# Steering: honesty over hype The single most important cultural rule in Solnix. **Never describe planned or partial work as done.** A reader deciding whether to try Solnix must be able to trust every status claim on the site, in the handbook, in the news, and in any agent's answer. Concrete standard: - "live" = usable today. "dev-preview" = a real artifact you can try, with rough edges. "planned" = designed, not built. - The headless install image (TUI, wifi on the X1) is dev-preview. A GPU-driven desktop is **not** shipping — COSMIC *compiles*, it is not driving a display yet. Say exactly that; do not announce a desktop. - Package/architecture counts and build status come from the live API (`/api/v1/systems`, `/status`), never from a number typed into prose. - Man-page auto-linking stays a no-op until the real corpus is published — linking to pages that don't exist yet would be a dead link, which is a lie by another name. If you are not sure whether something works, the honest move is to say so and check — not to round up. A confident wrong claim costs more than a hedge.
